Aetna reported an increase in profits by 38% in the last quarter of previous year. The insurance company has improved its results by reducing the cost of medical services. Overall, during the period the company received 320.8 million dollars in profit against 232 million dollars in the same period last year. Operating revenues increased by 2.2% to 15.09 billion dollars. It is worth mentioning that the company has agreed to buy rival Humana and the deal could be closed in the second half of this year, which will reduce operating costs and improve financial performance by business consolidation.
