01.08.2014 - The price of Exxon Mobil may fall, despite the positive statements

Exxon Mobil Corporation has published a positive quarterly report. Thus, for the second quarter in 2014 the company has received 8.78 billion dollars of profit, compared with a profit of $ 1.55 per share for the same period last year. It is worth noting that the company also has become the largest in the United States by gas production after acquiring XTO Energy for 25 billion dollars.

Despite the strong financial performance of the company and business expansion, a negative factor for the rise in prices for the company's stock could be falling of oil prices on world markets. Given this fact, we recommend to close long positions on shares of the company and wait for an entry point to open mid-term short positions.
