07.07.2015 - Industrial production in Britain has grown thanks to oil and gas

Today was published statistics on industrial production in the UK, which unexpectedly rose due to increased oil and gas production in the country. In May index rose by 0.4%, against growth of 0.3% in the previous period. Analysts had forecasted a decline of 0.2%. In May, oil production increased by 7.3%. It should be noted that the strengthening of the US dollar and the weakening of the euro against the background of the Greek crisis continues to put pressure on the British currency quotes and we maintain a medium-term negative outlook and recommend holding short positions with the targets at 1.5350 and 1.5200.
