09.10.2014 - Alcoa opened earnings season

The stock price of aluminum giant Alcoa rose after publication of the report for the 3rd quarter of this year. Thus, the company earned 31 cents per share, versus the predicted 22 cents per share. Revenue compared to last year increased by 8.2%, to 6.24 billion dollars. The main reasons for the growth of figures were an increase in aluminum prices by 16% for the year, the decline in commodity prices and improved production efficiency. Also it is worth noting the expansion of the business of producing finished parts for the aerospace industry. Considering the positive results, we recommend to keep the company's stock in long-term portfolio, with the potential of growth by 30% for the year, but do not exclude the price correction in the near future.
