12.01.2015 - The Australian dollar fell sharply

The price of AUD/USD began a sharp decline, despite the strong growth at the beginning of today's trading session. The reason for the drop in prices, which reached SMA200 was a sharp increase in the US dollar and falling gold, which is one of the main export goods in Australia. The US dollar strengthened amid growing speculations about the asset purchasing program of the ECB, which has a negative impact on the euro and has led to increased demand for the US dollar. At the moment, quotations of AUD/USD broke through the important level of 0.8200, and will likely continue to fall to the levels of 0.8040 and 0.8000. Our medium-term outlook for the Australian dollar remains negative.
