14.05.2015 - The Bank of England may raise interest rates this year

The price of the British pound continued to rise after the statement of the Bank of England’s Governor Mark Carney, who noted the possibility of raising interest rates later this year. At the same time, Mr. Carney said that this process will depend on the state of the economy and that the regulator is not going to raise rates too fast or too soon, with the purpose not to slow the economic growth. Negative factors that affect the British economy remains the strengthening of the British pound, which updated the highs for the six months and the weak global economic growth. Our medium-term outlook for the British pound is a negative, but we expect continued growth in the near future with a target at 1.60.
