Delta Air Lines was the first among air carriers that reported for the third quarter of 2015 and announced an increase in revenue that almost tripled compared to the same period of the last year, amid falling fuel costs. The price of fuel in the third quarter was $ 1.80 per gallon versus 2.90 in the same quarter in 2014. Fuel expenditures for the year fell by 38%. The company's profit for the quarter was 1.32 billion dollars compared to 357 million dollars for the same period last year. Revenue fell to 11.1 billion dollars.
