22.10.2015 - The British pound showed strong price movements today

The price of the British pound today showed a high level of volatility in connection with the release of unexpectedly strong statistics on retail sales in the country, which increased by 1.9% in September that was 1.6% better than expected. We recall that in August, the drop was 0.4%. In spite of this, quotes of the pound were not able to continue its growth and fell following the euro after the statement of Mario Draghi about the discussion of the issue of reduction of deposit rates, as well as due to increased confidence in the launch of more stimulus measures from the ECB on the background of a slowdown in the world economy, that will put pressure on the price of the euro. We expect the fall of the British pound in the near future and medium term.
