24.07.2014 - AT&T has disappointed investors

AT&T Corp. announced profit decrease by 7.2% due to the rising cost of applications for users of wireless internet. In the second quarter the company earned $ 3.5 billion against the previous figure of 3.82 billion dollars. It is worth noting that in the second quarter, the company increased the number of postpaid application users by 800 thousand. At the moment the main competitors of the company are Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile US Inc. and Sprint Corp.

Deal on acquisition of DirecTV Inc. for $ 49 billion may become a driver for the company's further development and to improve financial performance. Despite the decline in profits, the company has not changed its forecast for 2014 and we continue to recommend holding the shares of company with a growth potential by 12-15% by year end.
