The British bank Barclays announced plans to cut about 1,000 jobs and to focus on more profitable lines of business and close offices in a number of countries including Brazil, Taiwan, South Korea and Russia. The Bank will continue to work in the prime brokerage, currency trading, commodities and bonds, as well as continue its activities in the field of counseling in investment banking.
