26.01.2015 - Elections in Greece did not affect the mood of investors

The US stock market showed a decline in the last trading session on weak corporate reporting of company UPS, as well as in connection with the fixation positions before the weekend during which elections were held in Greece. At the same time, investors were disappointed by data on US manufacturing PMI, which fell to 53.7, compared with an expected 54.1. The index of leading US economic indicators increased by 0.5%, in line with forecasts of analysts. Today, the course of trading will be affected by the speculation about the consequences of the victory of the left forces in the elections in Greece. We are improving our medium-term outlook for the US stock market in connection with the program of quantitative easing in the Eurozone.

European stock indexes continue to show steady growth against the background of the decision to launch a program of quantitative easing in March of this year, during which each month will buy assets for 60 billion euros. This step of the ECB will support the European and world stock markets in the medium term. The news of the victory of the party in the elections Syriza in Greece failed to disappoint investors. Earlier Syriza was against austerity measures that may interfere Greek debt restructuring. The index of business confidence in Germany rose to 106.7, which coincided with the forecast. We expect further growth of the stock markets of the European Union in the medium term.

Markets in the Asia-Pacific region showed the dynamics of different directions. The Australian market was closed today in connection with celebrating the Day of Australia. The Chinese market finished the trading session near the previous close levels. Trade deficit in Japan in December totaled 0.71 trillion yen. Tomorrow the course of trading in the region will be affected by the data on the index of business sentiment in Australia and the index of leading economic indicators in China. Investors are also waiting for the Fed statement on Wednesday and data on GDP growth in the US on Friday. We forecast an increase in the markets of the region in the near future.
